Women, Children, and George Caleb Bingham: A Selection of Artworks
While General Order No. 11, Watching the Cargo, and other of the Society's Binghams are on display at the Truman Library, the Bingham Gallery will exhibit a fascinating group of paintings, prints, and drawings relating to women and children. Of note is a remarkable work borrowed from the Missouri State Museum: a needlework portrait of George Washington made by Bingham's teenage daughter, Clara, in the 1850s.
