December 31, 2009 CALL FOR PAPERS: Missouri Museums Association 2010 Annual MeetingThe Missouri Museums Association is co-sponsoring the fifty-second annual meeting of the Missouri Conference on History with the Missouri State Archives and The State Historical Society of Missouri, on April 15-16, 2010 at the Capitol Plaza Hotel and Convention Center in Jefferson City. During this meeting, MMA will have its annual meeting and elect its officers for the next year. We invite you to propose conference sessions and papers by and for museums, archives, historical societies, and libraries for a conference track related to these institutions and their specific interests. This is our opportunity to share with other members of the Missouri historical and cultural community what is happening in our institutions. Anyone wishing to organize a session or present a paper should submit a one-page abstract and a one-page curriculum vitae. If you wish to organize a session, please include the names of your panelists, the session chair, and a commentator, if you wish to have one. Please submit your paper abstract or session information and curriculum vitae to: Shelly Croteau posted @ 10:39 AM December 14, 2009 The Missouri Conference on History seeks nominations for Book and Article AwardsThe Book Award will be given to the best volume on any historical topic written by a Missouri resident and published in 2009. The winner will receive a $500 prize.Articles eligible for nomination must relate to a Missouri history topic and have been published during 2009 (no restriction on residence of the author). The author of the winning article will receive a $250 prize. Three copies of each book or article should be mailed to: Gary R. Kremer Executive Director The State Historical Society of Missouri kremerg@umsystem.edu The deadline for receipt of nominations is January 15, 2010. Prize for Best Student Paper The Missouri Conference on History will present a $250 prize for the best student paper presented at the conference by a registered student participant. Students (undergraduate or graduate) who wish to be considered for the prize should submit an electronic version of the completed paper of between 3,000 and 4,000 words to: Gary R.
